The multi-talented Anna Fidler is presenting a stunning exhibit of new works in several mediums. She is known for her intricate works of paper collage from her first exhibiton at Pulliam Deffenbaugh and the Portland Art Museum's Oregon Biennial both in 2001. Since then she has received her MFA and developed and expanded her vocabulary in the medium of painting. This exhibition presents new paintings and paper collage works. For the past year and half, Fidler has also been collaborating on a film with Philip Cooper, generously funded in part by a grant from the Regional Arts and Culture Council of Portland, OR. Filmed in the mystical Chaco Canyon area of New Mexico, Ken's Lake in Utah and the moon-scape Diamond Crater lava beds of Oregon, this kodachrome super 8 film documents the installation of Fidler's felt strands and dots traversing the landscape. Techniques of stop animation, time-lapse, and digital manipulation result in a film both documentary and abstract in nature. In conjunction with the film, Ms Fidler and Mr. Cooper's band, The Sensualists, is releasing a limited edition CD of twelve new songs.
